Getting There

On the eastern border of Nebraska, Omaha is approximately 1090 miles by car from Baton Rouge. On the way to Omaha you will pass through Memphis, St. Louis, and Kansas City, and any one of these would make a great side trip if you have the time. If you are a bit more hurried in your journey to Omaha, a great alternative is to fly. There are plenty of reasonable fares to Omaha from Baton Rouge and New Orleans. If you do drive it without any side trips, you should expect your drive to take anywhere from 14 to 18 hours, depending on your driving speeds. According to MapQuest, the following is the best route when driving from Baton Rouge to Omaha. If you're leaving from somewhere else or are taking a side trip, you can always get directions from MapQuest.
